Natural law comes from self-ownership, from which one can also derive the rights to life, liberty, and property (see Voluntaryism).

The US Declaration of Independence states that these rights come from our Creator; but they may also be derived via other means; Rothbard derives self-ownership as an axiom by consideration and necessary rejection of alternatives, or Rand through man's nature qua man.
